Harmony Day
Coldstream Primary held its inaugural Harmony Day festivity in March 2017 and the school was thrown open to an afternoon of cultural exploration, storytelling, singing and dancing. Since then the children regularly start the year immersing themselves in who they are, where they come from, the gifts they bring in terms of strengths and talents.
Each Harmony Day (usually in the 3rd week of March) ends with a multicultural performer who keeps the audience laughing and engaged. We invite the community and other schools and kinders to share this special day with us.
In 2023 we hosted an incursion where the Majeda Murri Island Girl, an indigenous performer engaged the students in imparted her culture through anecdotes and dance.
The magnetic Pacific Islander, Bernard, enchanted the audience with his clever dancing and tricks in 2018 and 2022.
In 2017, children explored their European backgrounds and presented aboriginal stories. It was a huge success and culminated in a colourful Bollywood incursion.
